Fashion & Style News: V V Brown Takes Over

There's a British invasion in the U.S. and V.V. Brown (neé Vanessa Brown) is ready to take over. The 25 year-old has vocals that will give Amy Winehouse a reason to panic and make Etta James proud. Like fellow Brit Estelle, V.V. has a style that is all her own. With her music a hit in the U.K., one would  think she might be content with being a singer. Wrong.

V.V. Brown is a true Chocolate Fashionista who loves vintage fashion. She has launched her own shopping website VV Vintage in June and she's secured a modeling contract with the Select Model Management (at 5'10 she's a designer's dream) in the U.K. If the U.S. shares the same love of her music as the great Brits have, V.V. Brown just may join the creme de la creme of the music crop.

But music isn't her only passion. Fashion lights her fire and her eagerness to prove herself as somewhat of a glamazon is evident in her 1950s inspired look. The pompadour hair, the petticoat inspired dress, and her overall love of vintage is proof enough. Brown favors designers like Viktor and Rolf, Chanel and Balenciaga.

VV Vintage sales is an online thrift store that sells items for less than $50. Everything on the site is derivative of what V.V. would wear herself. She is very hands on with the selections.

While her notoriety has only helped her business, she will not rest on her laurels. She plans to open a shop in London in the near future. Brown, who is a huge fan of Grace Jones but relies more so on her gospel background in her music. With her new album on the way, the Los Angeles transplant is taking life by the horns and hoping to make music people will love.
