Cookie Johnson Wants You in Her Jeans

Cookie Johnson, better known as Mrs. Magic has created her very own denim collection, Cj by Cookie Johnson. The jeans are made for curvier women who have waists from 24 to 38 inches. Johnson herself had trouble herself finding jeans, often having to buy a 31-inch waist pair of jeans to fit her size 29-inch waist due to her curvier shape. The designer says she had a hard time finding jeans to fit her because she had "butt and thighs", so she decided to do something about. She joined forces with 7 for All Mankind co-founder Michael Glasser, filling a void in the fashion industry. Women with fuller bodies who desire to wear premium denim jeans will appreciate her efforts.

Cj by Cookie Johnson goes all the way up to an 18 and are made from Japanese and Italian denim. The collection include bootcut, boyfriend, and a snug-leg fit jean. The line is sold exclusively in Nordstrom stores for $145-198 a pair.

Johnson predicts the line will do well because it is meeting a demand that has been ignored for some time. You can also find Cj by Cookie Johnson on racks in Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's this fall.

Gap held it's grand opening for the new Gap 1969 Jean Shop on Robertson Boulevard. The Gap 1969 was relaunched for it's 40th Anniversary selvage denim collection. The jeans have a $70 price point and include skinny, straight-leg and boyfriend styles. The collection was designed by Gap's vice president of design, Patrick Robinson is effort to make Gap a sound force in denim again.
