Kanye West has finally put his foot in his mouth--again. The rapper-producer made a complete spectacle of himself on Sunday night, storming the stage and taking the microphone from the young pop star Taylor Swift. Arriving at the MTV Video Music Awards with his latest 15-minute fame seeking girl-toy Amber Rose and a bottle of Hennessey, West seemed to already be on level 10.Once the show was underway and the winner was announced for Best Female Video, Taylor Swift took to the stage. Midway through her emotion-filled acceptance speech, Kanye ran on stage and took the microphone out of Swift's hand and proceeded to remark how, "Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time." The mortified Swift was left speechless as West threw his hands up and left the stage.
The crowd booed Kanye West, and Taylor Swift quite frankly, could not recover. Taylor wasn't the only one who was stunned. MTV cameras caught Beyoncé mouthing an, "Ohmigod," in shock. When Knowles went on stage to accept her award for Video of the Year, she asked Swift to join her. Swift who matched Beyoncé who was also wearing scarlet red returned to the stage and said, "Let's try this again."
West appeared on the first airing of The Jay Leno Show to apologize, but the damage was already done. The attention-seeking, confused star seemed to be suffering from a case of idiotitis when Leno asked, "What you your mother have said to you if she were here?" (West's mother died from complications after having plastic surgery in 2007. West had no real answer, but perhaps the backlash from his mistake will prompt him to consider his words before he opens his mouth again.
It seems that men these days are exuding more bitchiness than their female counterparts and that my friend, is NOT a good thing. Our we really surprised by Kanye's actions? Probably not. He's always been a problem within himself.
I neglected to even post this story because it was simply not newsworthy in my opinion. It just proves to me and thousands of others what the lack of a strong male role model coupled with fame and a huge ego can do.
