Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum

 Best known for their trench coats, Burberry has propelled outerwear to a whole new level. The fall 2010 collection is dominated by coats, pencil skirts, boots and draping. Giant collars and military-inspired looks are paired well with the slim-fitting skirts and leggings. Wine, olive, mustard, mahogany, black, and navy hues are plentiful. Beauty: Burberry Sport Coming in 2010

Burberry will introduce the Burberry Sport fragrance collection to complement the namesake line in 2010. Burberry Sport for Women and Burberry Sport for Men will come in rubberized packaging with graphic logos and zesty juices.

The women's fragrance will tout an invigorating floral scent with notes of mandarin and sea salt and a heart of magnolia, honeysuckle, and petit grains. The men's will have a woodsy citrus flavor with top notes of frozen ginger, grapefruit and wheatgrass. At the heart is red ginger, marine breeze accord, dry amber, juniper, and musk

The eau de toilettes will be available in three sizes 30, 50 and 75-ml sprays for $45, $63.50 and $81. Ancillary products include a body lotion and a shower gel for women and aftershave lotion, aftershave balm, shower gel and deodorant for men.

Burberry Prorsum is all about militarily chic for pre-fall 2010. The looks capture the essence of the military spirit coupled with a bit of chic. Cinched waists, aviator-jackets and lush gabardine are dominant while the signature trenches get upgraded with more style and colors. Tailored skirts, ruffled details and slim-fitting skirts round out this classic collection.

Fashion & Style News: Saks Fifth Avenue Takes on More Designers at Fifth

Amidst the nations financial crisis, the economy hasn't affected the abundance of designer shops. Saks Fifth Avenue's Fifth Avenue flagship has welcomed a bevy of designer shops within the last month including Max Mara, Calvin Klein Collection, Donna Karan, Burberry, Akris Punto, and Agnora.

Each designer shop has its own theme, influenced by the collection itself. Burberry has a contemporary British theme, while Calvin Klein has a bright, clean appearance. Akris Punto is trying out a new concept with a fresh look reminiscent of the brand. Donna Karan's shop has polished black walls, beige travertine floors, and a flat screen television.

Each designer shop is strategically placed in areas where there high-traffic volume and an atrium where brands are highlighted each week.
