Kandi Burruss might be new to the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she's definitely not new to the the spotlight. You might remember Burruss as a member of the singing group
Xscape who made their debut in 1993 on Columbia Records with their song
Just Kickin' It under the production of Jermaine Dupri.
Kandi left the group in 1998 but her passion for music remained. A talented singer
and songwriter,
Kandi has reaped the rewards of being a platinum-hit goddess. She co-wrote T.L.C.'s
No Scrubs with former bandmate
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, as well as hits for
Destiny's Child,
NSYNC,
Mariah Carey, and
Alicia Keys. As the new housewife,
Kandi will just might be subjected to a little "hazing" from her fellow ATLiens. But as a true star with a good heart,
Kandi will probably still come out smelling sweet.
The
Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on
July 30 at 10 PM on
Bravo.
